Divorce Investigations, Inc. is a Private Investigation Agency established in Birmingham, Alabama in 1985.  For over twenty years, the company has been a dominate force in the domestic segment of the private investigation industry.  The company enjoys a solid reputation built on a strong commitment to customer service, sound business practices, highly efficient operations, and expert investigative ability.

Our People

Divorce Investigations, Inc. is comprised of an elite team of surveillance professionals dedicated to the art, technology, and lifestyle of Surveillance Investigations.  Every person in our organization is a surveillance expert including those who now work in the office. Each Surveillance Professional has spent literally hundreds of hours, in some cases thousands of hours of their lives conducting surveillance from automobiles, airplanes, hotel rooms, apartments, etc.  Any of us are able to follow a target across the city, across the country, on streets, into malls, restaurants, bars, hotels, or almost anywhere else a target may go in order to discover and photograph the target's secret activities to the extent legally possible.

There are tremendous differences between investigative agencies and investigators.

In Birmingham, for instance, there is a rash of privte investigator wannabe's who have flooded the unregulated market in 2008. Hardly a week goes by without someone calling and telling me a story of having been duped by the unscrupulous. We've worked 2 cases for this year to help these individuals recover. Without any licensing or regulation, any tom, dick, or harry can put and add in the phone book...and they do! As a 22 year advertiser, I have seen dozens come and go.

Qualities to Look For

A legitimate and successful investigator or investigative agency has a profile that generally has the following attributes:

  • The ability to reach your investigator at any hour. It is important to be able to give or receive information critical to your case as the need arises in a time sensitive manner.
  • Investigative agencies that have multiple investigators can effectively work more than one case at a time, and will not short change your case in favor of another.
  • Will provide references on request.
  • Legitimate investigative agencies have an office, and do not work out of their houses, apartments, or condos. They don't tell you their office is being remodeled or make you meet at Starbucks.
  • Legitimate investigative firms bond their employees.
  • Effective investigators have a good understanding of the laws that pertain to investigation, what is admissible in court and they work with your attorneys to develop your case.
  • A good reputation in the legal community is very important. Not all investigators have a reputation of credibility with either the attorneys or the judges who hear the cases.
